Herbert Cohen studied under Marguerite Wildenhain and Bernard Leach at Alfred University, where he graduated with a BFA and an MFA. He used stoneware to create sculptures as well as functional pottery. Cohen often uses complex abstract designs etched into the surface to adorn his pieces. His forms can be purely mid-century modern or influenced by Wildenhain. less
