The gently carved Walnut frames flows around the fine workmanship of the tufted back and finished details of the seat. The silk fabric (not original) is a subtle green and off white stripe accented by a yellow stripe.
The pair have been well-loved and the nicks have been expertly repaired. The repairs are almost invisible and the chairs are solid.

The chairs were acquired in London following the end of World War II by my husband's parents.
Brigadier General and Mrs. John B. Ackerman were assigned to the US Embassy-London where he served as United States Air Attache from 1946 - 1950. Upon return to the USA, the chairs were used in various family homes in McLean, VA (Ranleigh Estate), Georgetown, Washington DC and Chicago, IL. less
