Napako traces its origins back to 1919 when several small private companies in Prague merged, forming the company. Its name, Napako, is derived from the initial syllables of three words: NÁstrojaři (toolmakers), PAsíři (smiths), and KOvotlačitelé (metal spinners). Since the 1940s, Napako has been synonymous with the innovative designs of Josef Hůrka, particularly his iconic lighting fixtures. The lamp features a distinctive Brussels style, characterized by its minimalist shapes and neutral color scheme.
