The design and dimensions of this painting were influenced by the Fibonacci Golden Rectangle.. Fibonacci was an Italian Mathematician in the 1100's who identified the use of the spiral in the Golden Rectangle. The Golden Rectangle was also used to form of The Great Pyramid in Giza. It is found often in nature in Sunflowers and Nautilus sea shells for example. If at any given time you divide the female bees of a hive by the number of male bees in the same hive you get the Golden Ratio of 1.618. This painting is built on that ratio for mathematical magic and to be visually pleasing.
