A fine antique American Federal period convex gilt wood looking Glass/ mirror, circa 1820.
The mirror sumounted with a carved eagle on a plinth, the eagle with a chain suspended from it's beak with two gilt spheres, the eagle is flanked by stylised acanthus leaf carved applique panels. To the center is a convex mirror which appears to be period, it is surrounded by a ribbed ebony bezel. Surrounding the mirror are twenty gilt spheres, to the base of the mirror is a corresponding carved leaf applique.
The mirror is in very good condition, the gilding has been professionally refreshed in Bloomsbury's workshops with genuine 24 Karat gold leaf.
