Carolean Wainscot or Backstool Charles II Period Circa 1685 made in Lancashire. An associated chair in the National Trust Collection, located in Blickling Hall, the birthplace of Anne Boelyn
A joined oak backstool, late 17th century, English, South Lancashire / North Cheshire. The paneled back carved with a stylized tulip and oak leaves surmounted by an arched top rail with further oak leaf and scroll carving, the uprights capped with pyramid finials. the solid plank seat above baluster turned legs tied by stretcher. Circa 1685
