This piece comes from … more Elephants are considered to be good luck, especially if the nose is up (in Western culture). This piece comes from an interesting background. In 1950’s a Roman company, Vivai del Sol, was established by three brothers whose Southern Italian roots were influenced by Mediterranean living. Originally a landscape company they began to design gardens and terraces for Roman palazzos, then NYC and wealthy Arab Emirates. They blended Baroque elements with Mediterranean folk cultures using columns, flowers and mythical elements. The rattan wicker elephant side table with tray was born. Vivai del Sud became well known in design, architecture, furniture and accessories and being one of the leading design studios in Italy while specializing in high end tropical glam. This sturdy wood based rattan elephant is hand braided and extremely detailed. The eyes bring life to the fun of this exquisite piece. less
