Simply wonderful set of five, art pottery, mid-century plates made in Italy and imported by Meiselman. Each 8-sided plate has a lovely crackleware finish with edges in mossy green. Birds have great detail and are in beautiful bright colors. Perfect for those who love birds and wildlife, vintage Italian ceramics or fans of majolica. So fabulous on your table or displayed on your wall.
Not a lot is known about the Meiselman Imports company. They started in New York importing fine Italian art pottery in the mid 20th century. They focused on high-quality pieces in the form of animals, tureens, vases and dinnerware.
On September 2, 1980, the company changed its name to Ben Har Imports. The firm was dissolved on September 21 ,1981. less
