It is her most popular and sought-after piece. This style was designed in 1955 at the behest of the Spanish government to elevate the profile of Spanish-style design. There were only a little over 3000 of these chests produced and very few originals are in existence today.

It is nearly flawlessly lacquered in the color Tricorn Black by Sherwin-Williams, solid brass ring pulls, each drawer is hand painted with gold gilding exactly as the original design was right off the showroom floor circa 1955. It features the original Heritage Stamp in the top drawer, the original floating jewelry/sock drawer, a framed front, numbered drawers, and is serial numbered underneath on the very bottom. The back is also finished so that this piece could "float" in the middle of any space.

"Dorothy Draper was born to a wealthy and privileged family in 1889, in one of the most exclusive communities in American history, Tuxedo Park. She was the first to “professionalize” the interior design industry by establishing, in 1923, the first interior design company in the United States, Dorothy Draper & Company.
