They used a concrete mixture to hold the shells in place and tried to make it look like a mud castle on the beach. Please make sure the table you set these on is sturdy and will not buckle. The pair stand 21 inches to the socket top. With a shade they will probably sit at about 31 inches with shades. The base and finial are black and do match. By using the black top and bottom, the shells really do stand out and make a statement. See less
