'Igor' is an abstract, nature inspired, organic form. Playfully created to be nonsensical.The overall form is rounded off and curvy. This work though preposterous as it may appear, is intended to reflect the lighter side of art. In so doing the result is a unique, unforced, original work.
Sculptures created in concrete are made using a combination of layering and carving; addition and subtraction. Concrete is added gradually to a rigid frame, as it cures more layers are then added or removed as the form develops. A process requiring time and focus, often taking weeks or months to complete a single piece. The final result offers a unique work with a surface layer comprising of multiple layers meshed and intertwined together. less
