Exquisitely hand-crafted in France in the early 20th century, most likely Parisian work, exceptionally executed in sophisticated and luxurious King Louis 16th taste, having an inset burgundy red leather writing surface framed by a visually striking matched flame mahogany border, over solid wood case fitted with five satinwood banded mahogany drawers, affixed with ornate gilt bronze pulls and escutcheons, framing the central kneehole, finished on all sides, the back and flanks feature attractive highly figured feathered flame mahogany, rising on gilt bronze mounted tapering square legs, ending on brass sabots. Retaining the original locks and keys.
