Rare and beautiful, large vintage Murano hand blown coral red and gold flecks Italian art glass flower basket / vase. Documented to designer Archimede Seguso, circa 1952. A similar piece (in yellow) was photographed by me, and published in the Seguso book "Lace and Stone". It also has an original "Made in Italy" label underneath. The basket is made with a rich red color, with a rope handle, and applied base with little feet around he bottom. It is profusely covered in heavy gold leaf throughout every single part, including the handle and feet. Would make a great decorative piece on any vanity, credenza or side table. Display it as a sculptural piece, or filled with flowers. Mid-century era. A beautiful piece and a collector’s item! Measures: 8 1/2" tall x 8 3/8" long x 5 1/4" wide.
