There is a recessed spot for pens and next to that is the inscription; 1 Januari (January in Dutch) 1913. I could find only two hallmarks on the bottom which I have pictured, the first is the maker's mark VK for Fa. J.M. van Kempen & Zoon. and the other looks like the bottom of the Lion Passant mark indicating 833 silver. I have tested this piece and it tests as silver. The silver square that holds the inkwell has a dent on one side, the inkwell has residue I have not tried to clean out and the piece could use a polish (we will do that for you if you ask) but otherwise it is in good condition. Th ink stand weighs 350 grams and the inkwell has a silver top. less
