These wonderful antique cabinet cards are portraits of siblings -- three girls and a boy (the one with bangs, scowling). Though these were taken by different photographers, I believe they're the same group of children taken several years apart. Dating to the mid to late 1800s, these black and white / sepia photographs are affixed to cardboard with the photography studio name on it. One has a slightly reddish tint to it, and the other is closer to black and white (a little on the brown side).
Cabinet cards were introduced in the 1860s, with peak popularity from 1870s to 1890s. They were a nice size (4 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches) for displaying in a cabinet, hence the name.
Both cabinet cards are in very good condition, with just a little surface wear. Note that I have two sets of these; the only difference is the cardboard background varies a little on one of them.
