Roman coin brooch framed in 18k yellow gold by well-known jeweler Elizabeth Gage who received a commission from Cartier in 1968. The setting is stamped Gage and 750, along with other shallow hallmarks. The front of the coin features a bearded man, after Hadrian, while the reverse shows the goddess Minerva with her constant companion, Victoria (Nike in Greek lore) on her arm. Trombone clasp.
This brooch is in very good original condition with wear consistent with age and use.
