An antique Northwest Persian decorative oriental carpet, in gallery size, size 8'5" x 4'2". This hand-knotted antique decorative carpet emanates from Northwestern Persia, in 1900. The rug is characterized by circles allover the dark brown central field, which is at once both symmetrical and whimsical; precise and airy. The central field is encased within a blue outer border, which adds dimension and definitude to the whimsy of the central space. In very good condition for its age, weaving style, and composition. 100% wool pile on a cotton foundation. A one of a kind antique carpet, with a highly sought after and delightful aesthetic.
