This really is an Exceptionally Nice Looking Antique American Country Primitive Stoneware Jug. Circa Mid 19th Century. Classic Beehive Form - Very Desirable Small 1 Gallon Size. The Classic American Salt Glaze Exterior is Artistically Hand Decorated with a Wonderful Large Cobalt Blue Stylized Bird on a Branch. The Front is Embossed With the Well Documented Makers Name - Reads "F. B. NORTON & CO. WORCESTER, MASS". These. Smaller Size Jugs were Commonly Used to Store a Variety of Liquids - Spirits - Liquor - Ciders - Vinegar - Spring Water Etc. Back in the Day These Types of Stoneware Items were a Necessity in Most of Americas Farms and Household's and They were Made - Intended For Everyday Utilitarian Use. It is in Excellent Original Condition and it Displays Beautifully. No Damage - No Repairs. There is Some Slight Color Variation to the Glaze and Some Age and Use Related Stains.
