A 1981 abstract mixed media painting by American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). Composed of gouache, graphite, and colored pencil on paper, this abstract work features distinct geometric and biomorphic shapes and lines illustrated in predominately bright blues upon a gray ground with an orange border. The painting is signed and dated “Hilson 81” to the lower right corner.
Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-2000. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, and more. His studios could be found in New York, Los Angeles, and Aspen.
