Antique Meissen Porcelain Footed Salt Cellar ca. 1735 Hand Painted
Rare Meissen porcelain salt cellar on three voluted feet accented in gold and polychromed. The tapered, circular bowl with basketweave border is polychrome hand painted in overglaze with scattered flowers. This salt is modeled by the German, Johann Friedrich Eberlein (1696-1749).
The Meissen crossed sword mark is in blue underglaze. Condition is good. There is a minor firing crack on the bottom edge and a small hairline crack on the upper rim (pics)
