The artist hails from Tonalá, a city that is situated within the Guadalajara region of Mexico. Tonalá is well know for it's pottery. Vasquez is widely regarded as one of the finest, if not the finest artist, from this region. This item is not dated. The estimated age is the latter third of the 20th century. The platter has a diameter of just under 20" (side to side). The back top of the platter has an added in which to thread a string or rope for hanging. We have not tested this piece for stability, etc.

Overall very good vintage condition with vibrant colors and little to no paint loss. There is a chip to the backside of the rim as shown in the photos along with a few other much smaller backside rim imperfections. less
