A good antique German Hand-Painted KPM porcelain portrait plaque signed "Wagner" after the painting "Reflection" by the Italian artist Angelo Asti (1847-1903).
Asti was born in Milan and immigrated to Ohio, he was famous for painted beautiful young women and has been credited with being the originator of the Pin-up Girl. In terms of beauty this work is no exception, titled "Reflection" & portraying a beautiful young maiden with long tresses of hair. The portrait plaque is signed "Wagner", who was one of the main painters of porcelain at KPM and frequently produced portraits of other famous artists of the day.
The oval plaque is housed in the original gilt frame, we have not taken the plaque out of the frame, but both the frame and porcelain plaque are in very good condition.
