Judith Daner was born in 1935. She studied at Parson's School of Design,
the Art Students League in New York, and she received her BFA with top honors from Pratt Institute.
Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums nationally and the Biennale Internationale in France.
Early in her career, Daner was a designer for Bovano of Cheshire,
Connecticut and Robert Wuersch Associates of Fall River, Massachusetts.
According to available information about Judith Daner’s early activities as an enamel artist, she worked as a designer for both Bovano of Cheshire, Connecticut, and Robert Wuersch Associates of Fall River, Massachusetts. It is unknown whether Bovano or Wuersch created this particular example of Daner’s enamel art.
In any event, Daner employed the technique of stenciling for her design of this enamel plaque so that the various elements have a layered / 3-dimensional effect rendered in variations of orange, black, and avocado green enameling (or variations thereof). This took multiple firings to accomplish. The enamel plaque itself is mounted to simple walnut board frame with a white painted interior. less
