Hand carved in France in the late 19th century, exceptionally executed in grand King Louis 14th taste, hand-crafted out of solid walnut, high-quality craftsmanship and construction, having a single long frieze drawer with carved stylized acanthus shell ornamentation, incised detailing, and dovetail joinery, rising on bulbous tapering baluster legs adorned with elaborate carvings, joined by x-form cross stretcher, with a later applied black faux leather writing surface.

Condition Report:
Great antique condition with beautifully aged warm mellow patina. Strong, sturdy, stable, structurally sound. Attractive appearance, retaining antique character and rustic charm throughout, wear consistent with age and indicative of use, including a small filled indentation tear and minor slight indentations to the top. Minor losses and old wax buildup. Overall a wonderful example, that presents splendidly.
