Original Aquatint Color Rose Print from the book, " Centurie des Plus Belles Roses", ("Century of the Most Beautiful Roses") published 1845-1846 by Victor Paquet. Illustrated and Colored by Madame Annica Bricogne. The print is entitled "Rose Jules Margottin".
The print bears the mark and address "Imp, Houiste, 5 Rue Mignon, Paris". The print is a single page removed from the original book and is enclosed in a vintage matte. The matte is hand lined with single gold, blue/gold and red lines and bears the mark "Ingress Fabriano".
Her work is also included in the Book, "Horticulteurs & Amateurs de Jardinage", Paris, 1874; E. Donnaud, Libraire-Editeur. She also painted most of the plates for the first years (ca.1851) of the Magazine, "L 'Horticulteur Francais".
Her original watercolors are rare.
The Rose print paper size is 7" wide x 10.5" tall.
The matte size is 11.75" wide x 15.75" tall. less
