A 1980s abstract mixed media painting by American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). Composed of gouache, charcoal, and colored pencil on paper, distinct geometric and biomorphic shapes are illustrated in gray, black, purple, blue, and dusty rose over a gray ground in this abstract piece. The painting is signed “Hilson” to the lower right corner.
Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-2000. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, and more. His studios could be found in New York, Los Angeles, and Aspen.
