It is lightweight and measures at 12x9"inches (30.48x22.86cm). This painting is unframed and ships flat in a sturdy cardboard envelope for US$10 within the United States. Please inquire for world wide shipping rates. The Bend Series began in the summer of 2018 in my sketchbook. Gone from New Zealand only a couple months and still adjusting to my new surroundings, I was struggling to find my voice in the studio. My usual colorful abstracts started taking the back seat as minimal line studies began filling the pages. My first few paintings stalled as I wasn't sure where I wanted to go with them. By the end of the year, stacks of explorations started piling up with strong, imperfect, bending lines staring back at me. I saw a sense of grace and peace in them. The lines, thin and thick, in solid neutral colors against bright washes, took on personality and relationship to one another. The Bend Series reflects my journey back to California in 2018, and ultimately back to myself, as I found strength in my artistic voice amidst so much change, adjustment and renewal. less
