This is a beautiful reproduction two-piece secretary from Jamestown, New York. The Maddox Table Company was founded in 1898 and was one of the first manufactures to ever hallmark a piece of furniture. Their secretaries were one of the more popular selling items especially between the 1920’s and 1950’s. This secretaire features a removable finial and mullion style glass locking doors. The interior shelves are fixed with a plate groove in each. The base opens up to reveal four small drawers, four letter slots, a cupboard door, and two false front pull out containers on either side. Four lower serpentine locking drawers. Is in good condition for its vintage age + use with some sun fade and standard nicks to solid wood. Comes with locking key. less
