This stunning sample piece of "Palermo" from Robert Allen is a lovely crewel; the base is 100% cotton of good weight and tight weave; the embroidery is 100% wool.
It measures 26.5 in x 26.5 in.
The color-way is called Petal -- a very soft combination of light pinks, smoky lavender, dusty greens and light beige on a creamy off-white cotton base.
Crewel is undergoing another revival, no doubt due to its beautiful handmade appearance and natural materials. In a room where crewel is part of the décor, it almost always becomes a focal point due to its striking patterns and the appeal of its thick, raised sculptural fibers.
This piece has been stored in a clean climate-controlled environment (smoke and pet free) and is in clean, new condition, with no stains, flaws, pulls or tears. less
