As indicated on … Read more This wonderful set of engravings have huge appeal with their neutral color scheme and interesting subject matter. As indicated on the back of each, they once belonged to the famous “Poet of Childhood” Eugene Field (1850 to 1895). He wrote such verses as Wynken, Blynken and Nod and Little Boy Blue. The engravings in landscape orientation are entitled: A Landscape, Making the Harbour, Cattle Drinking, and The Shipwreck. The portrait orientation depict two classically dressed fellows: C. or G. Dow and The Scholar. They were purchased as a set and each has the following notation on the back: “This wood cut came from the collection of my father, Eugene Field (various dates in 1931).
