The last mosaic available from the series 'Summer Mosaics' for Tiffany & Co. 1987. Photos of all the final mosaic panels installed at Tiffany's New York are in the Archive Center of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington DC. Thank you!
This large artwork is 48" Wide x 56" High. Original Summer Art Mosaic #5 was Created for Tiffany & Company Windows New York City in 1987. (Artist Jenny Long) The artwork incorporates two panels created so that the art can be used as an installation or hung as a unique artwork. The others have been successfully framed as a painting or set flush as a mosaic insert on a wall.for photos in Archive Center of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, search under Gene Moore. (Second B & W Photo shows installation photo from the Smithsonian Archive NMAH-AC1280-0003817) or ask us for a link. Mr. Moore, also used his own amazing collection of hummingbirds and props and artwork by NY artists, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, Alexander Ney and Andy Warhol to create magical designs for Tiffany's windows.
The final mosaics for Tiffany & Company windows are 48" x 56" High and are glued and cemented onto marine grade plywood. The 'Summer Mosaics' Series combined the rich colors of Summer in each of the five windows that line Tiffany & Co exterior at 5th Avenue and 57th Street.
