Beautifully and skillfully executed, this hand crafted scenic table shows an idyllic day in a small village. People gather in small groups, take a leisurely stroll or go about their daily activities. The colors used to capture the buildings, central street and lush foliage create a rich patina. This distinctive table was designed by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne for LaVerne Galleries using acid etched bronze, brass & pewter. Etched into the tabletop is the signature, "Philip Kelvin Laverne". Four bronze faux bamboo legs provide a sturdy base.
The father and son team of Philip (1907 - 1987) and Kelvin Laverne created custom, limited edition pieces of furniture that were both functional objects and stunning displays of artistry. The technique they used was based on bronze-casting methods that were centuries old, tweaked to give each piece its own distinctive patina. Their process for making the patinated bronze series started around 1954 and took six years to refine.
Measuring approximately:
47.5" in diameter
17.5" high.
A stunning statement piece that would make it a wonderful addition to any living room or large gathering area. This impressive table will make a special addition to your home or office.
