William C. Grauer (1895-1985) Untitled (Mexican Man with a Cane) ink and watercolor on paper 1940s. William Grauer, born in Philadelphia, was a painter, muralist, and art teacher in Cleveland for 60 years. In 1934 he and his wife founded the Old White Art Colony, School, and Gallery in White Sulphur Springs. In later years, his work became increasingly abstract.
This watercolor is in very good original unfaded condition. There are traces of paper tape along the back margins. A small tip of the corner has been torn off on the lower right end. See photos.
