Prestigious and iconic pair of Italian stools; massive square-section iron bars were used for the entire structure, the surface of … more Prestigious and iconic pair of Italian stools; massive square-section iron bars were used for the entire structure, the surface of the iron was finely decorated with carvings and arabesques, and the result was of strong decorative impact; the bars were joined together to form the design of the benches, which is pleasing and refined, elegant and aggressive; three leaf-shaped decorations were placed at the top of the legs; the whole structure was heavily gilded to give preciousness and brightness to the iron; the comfortable seat was reupholstered with an elegant and sturdy black velvet. The stools bear no identifying mark, but all their features make us more likely to attribute their design and execution to the famous designer Pier Luigi Colli. The stools were made in Turin between 1950 and 1953 by the Colli Company itself. less
