He honed his drawing, painting, and sculpture skills under the guidance of his great-uncle, a friend of Calder, absorbing a taste for geometric abstraction and purity. Despite pursuing studies in the hospitality industry, Maillet returned to his passion for art later in life, creating intricate mobiles that reflect maturity and precision.
