This listing is for an incredible piece of pyrography. Pyrography is a form of art that is created by using heated tools to burn images or designs into wood.
This pyrography panel dates to the 19th century.
Ir was designed after Edwin Landseer’s “Monarch of the Glen” painting, which was completed in 1851.
The piece depicts a red deer stag within a natural setting.
The reverse reads “etching on charred wood, subject: The Monarch of the Glen.”
This piece comes in a nice wooden frame with burled detailing and a gold inner
It is in overall very good condition.
The frame measures 13.25 x 13.65 inches.
