The metal plaque to the upper surface of the backrest frame bears facsimile signatures of the designers and makers and the number 124 .
This chair was designed in 1995 for the French National Library (Bibliothèque National de France - hence BNF)
An unusual design, with bent ply seat and angular frame, the chair is comfortable, designed for use whilst reading, the high back is free to lean backwards against the frame allowing for movement often needed if sitting for a long time.
The ply seat appears to hover within the frame, as it is supported on steel arms under the seat.
The chair is constructed from Doussie wood, and the ply seat similarly faced. The wood is a hard and durable wood which withstands temperature and humidity fluctuations and physical stress very well. This piece has an attribution mark,
