An original drypoint etching on paper by Sir William Russell Flint, British artist 1880-1969, "A Dwelling in Aragon" (Trial Proof) 1929, Edition of 75, Scene of buildings in Aragon, Spain with a crowd of people in the foreground performing numerous tasks (extremely detailed and quite large for a drypoint etching), 8 1/2" x 13 3/8", signed at the bottom left below the plate P.E. 10 (proof edition of 10), Paper: J. Whatman 1796, signature of W. Russell Flint below the plate to the right and inscribed with title: A Dwelling in Aragon in sepia ink. Below the matting at the bottom left is inscribed "Trial", CA number 3943, CA purchased spring of 2024 from a major Scottish auction house. The etching is included in Wright's catalogue number 28. It was at one time in the collection of Arthur Mitchell, a prominent Sir W.R.F. collector.
The work is matted with Antique White Museum matboard, museum backing, Conservation Clear Glass and framed in 7/8" matte black moulding.
