The Sheffield Assay Office, founded in 1773, adopted the "crown" as its hallmark, applied with punches of varying sizes depending on the object's proportions. Interestingly, from 1815 to 1819, the crown mark was consistently stamped upside down.
Marked "800" Silverplated
This set offers a diverse selection, perfect for complementing an existing collection of Sheffield antique serveware or starting a new one.
The handles feature a flat chasing effect and delicate repousse, adorned with botanical motifs encircling a geometric shape typical of early 19th-century design.
