Chinese Taihang mountain stratified gongshi. From Yu county, Heibi province, China. A cloud shaped, layered, pale cream stone with orange, blueish gray, white,and umber highlights, with jagged quartzite edges, voids and crevices, mounted on a polished, custom fitted, Chinese hongmu base. Circa Republic of China era, no later than mid century.
wood stand: 1.25" high x 4.25" wide x 3.375" deep
stone: 9.5" high x 5.25" wide x 3.5" deep.
