The basic form of this table is a popular Spanish design of this period but there are several factors that set this table apart from the majority of tables of this type. Firstly the thickness of the top. This is a much more substantially made piece than most and the thick plank top shows that this is a piece that was made to last and withstand centuries of use. The colour of the piece is exemplary, beautifully faded and yet with a lovely surface with charming signs of wear. The moulded legs are very nicely executed as is the fine wrought iron stretcher. The frieze features panelling and three small drawers. See less
