Description: Antique American Wood Trunk. Warm brown hue; exact wood unknown by seller. The top/lid is adorned with brass nail heads … more Antique American Wood Trunk. Warm brown hue; exact wood unknown by seller. The top/lid is adorned with brass nail heads and black (likely iron) hinge hardware. The top is flat but note it’s unique “mushroom-like” profile (see side view photos). Black leather handles on each end. The interior is lined with patterned paper. The interior leather-hinge strap is in place but no longer affixed to the lid. The trunk is intended to be displayed on the floor. Note bottom is unfinished with a wooden runner along the edge.

Purchased at the Farmington, CT Antiques Fair in the 1980's. Likely the piece was refurbished/ refinished, but history/age is unknown. A unique piece with character for any interior. less
