The playful exploration of colour, material and surface, transparency and opaqueness, pushing and pulling between real form and illusionary form and depth, is evident in these painted sculptures.

This sculpture is a good example of the geometric language the sculptor created in the 2010s and uses in his current work. Although the artist works with a variety of materials, including bronze and ceramics, his preferred material is stone, specifically granite, marble, limestone, red sandstone, and alabaster from quarries in England, Ireland, and Italy.
