Richard Billmeier was born in 1921, and at this writing, is therefore 97 or 98 years old. He is known for his oil abstract landscape paintings and his works of this size and scope have sold at auction for prices in excess of $1,200.

The painting evokes different responses in the viewer as is common in good abstract art. Is it a lake and mountain view during a spectaular sunset or meant to evoke flowing lava and a distant erupting volcano? Either way, it is a statement piece you will enjoy having in your home.
