A beautifully detailed watercolor of a setting sun in what is most likely a port in North Africa. These sumptuous works of art were used, through poster form, to advertise the luxury of all places foreign and exotic. Depicted is a luxury cruise liner docked at an undisclosed port of call with a setting sun and orange sky. The foreground speaks for itself. Circa 1900-20.

Good overall condition with some minor fading due to the age of the medium. Minor cosmetic wear and some scuffs and abrasions to the surface. The watercolor sketch board from Windsor & Newton was most likely matted at one point due to the adhesive around the border of the work of art.

This piece, along with other cruise line illustrations, was purchased from a relative of Anton Otto Fischer in Woodstock, New York.
