Millefiori is a glass technique which produces distinctive patterns on glassware
Mille means thousand
Fiori means flowers
Millefiori is cross sections of elaborately molded glass canes
On the Island of Murano, members of the Campanella family used traditional techniques to create Millefiore blown glass
The Campanella family then slices these glass canes and sets them
The small pieces are carefully placed one by one in a hot plate and then melted together with Murano crystals.
This makes a colorful mosaic
Each piece is produced with Venetian glass and every piece is slightly different
Paperweight has a flat polished bottom
