This is a hand paint polychrome Iznik style Kutahyan ceramics, one of the finest forms of Ottoman art.
Early 16th-century İznik wares were influenced by the blue-and-white porcelain of Ming-dynasty of China and by Persian wares, as you can see the influence in this plat: primary color is Cobalt Blue ,just added a few red and pale turquoise。it looks most like Blue and white china.
During the Ottoman period, (14th-20th centuries) Kütahya pottery flourished, spreading its fame across the empire. The city became a thriving center for ceramic production,
AS production in İznik halted during the early 17th century, Kütahya inherited its style and found its own identity. Kütahya potters were known for their skill in creating intricate designs, using a rich palette of colors that included cobalt blue, turquoise, green, and manganese purple. The Ottoman court highly valued Kütahya pottery, and it was often used to decorate palaces and mosques.
In Kutahya pottery, floral imagery, depletes with myriad blossoms, reflects the diversity of humankind. As observed in this plate, thel motif of Iznik style is three large flowers , three big leaves and two small flower in center. which are two hyacinths.
Kutahya ware traditionally painted with stylized and symmetrical designs of flowers, leaves, and fruits, along with abstract linear motifs like this plate.
The floral pattern in this plate was copy from Iznik (İznik tabak, 1590, Château d'Ecouen (Erdinç Bakla arşivi) , which was collected in Los Angeles County Museum of Art(file :Plate LACMA M.73.5.381.jpg) Artisans in Kutahya attempted to revive the distant past by copying 16th century Iznik drawings like the floral pattern in this plate.
This plate has crazing under glaze due to its natural consequence of age ,which actually adds true charm and beauty for its value.
On the back. it engraved Ertugrul 口口口srikasi kutahya. possibly made during 19th century. it is so rare that collector can hardly find an identical one in the market ,which .reflected in its auction market value.
