This is a set of fifteen (15) woodblock prints from a series of signed (in the plate), dated and chop marked images by the listed Japanese/American artist Sadao Watanabe (Japan 1913-1996). They were pulled from "Katazome Hanga" printed in Tokyo, Japan in 1979. Printed on one side only, each with a separate title sheet. Dimensions; Apprx.:6 " x 6.25" each.

Sadao Watanabe (渡辺 貞夫, Japan, 1913-1996) was a Japanese printmaker and one of the most successful artists in Japan during the second half of the 20th century. Watanabe’s unique biblically themed prints produced by stencil printing in mingei (folk) style are well recognized and made the artist famous internationally.
