Marconi company
(the master's voice, columbia and marconiphone)
model: marconi 1562
a piece of history of the italian military and merchant navy\.
oak wood cabinet and refined electronics for a radio that accompanied the sailors of the golden era of the modern navy.
the system is completed by the precious lacquered steel turntable platter with arm entirely in bakelite.
at the beginning of its activity, the marconi company included among its first "institutional" customers the merchant and military navy, to which the transceiver and transmission equipment produced were rented ("modern leasing"), including operational personnel for the civil sector only. . This meant having training schools located at officine marconi, as in genoa.
in 1928 his master's voice (usa), known in italy as "la voce del padrone" (factories in milan) and which produced gramophones and records, realized that radio would dangerously modify the consistency of its reference market. He decided to purchase the english marconiphone, to quickly integrate the range of products to be offered, including radios. Naturally the largest and most powerful company of the two was his master's voice which imposed its production and design standards, very oriented towards series standardisation. Furthermore, the production of a model could be produced in one country and marketed anywhere (his master's voice, for example, controlled the pathè brand in france). In italy the production also included the columbia brand.
civil production activity ceased in italy at the end of the 1960s.
