- The 38" height of this genuine Empoli lamp gives an immediate presence, followed by the stunning waffle-patterned glass lines which … more The 38" height of this genuine Empoli lamp gives an immediate presence, followed by the stunning waffle-patterned glass lines which gradually change in width as they meander around the base. The beautiful two-toned slate green color is complemented by the natural color of the tanned hide shade, which appears to have been made specifically for this lamp and rests at a matching angle. It casts a lovely warm glow when lit, softly reflecting off the glass below. Delicately twisting ridges at the neck of the glass bottle, leading up to a precise joint with the brass fitting above, exude the fine Italian craftsmanship that Empoli is famous for. This lamp has not had any touch-ups or restoration- the metal sections show their original vintage wear and the original plug and wiring are in good condition. This unique and beautiful hand-made lamp will continue to be cherished by lovers of Italian blown glass and Mid-Century Modern decor wherever it finds a new home. less
